Bloodborne Patch Slays Game’s Scariest Monster: Load Times
With Bloodborne's 1.03 update we're getting various small tweaks to improve the experience of hunting accursed monsters in Yharnam, but no tweak is more important than the one to reduce those accursed load times.
As of today, Bloodborne's load screens have undergone a serious jazzing up. According to the patch notes, they've been reduced approximately 5-15 seconds apiece and now, rather than simply presenting a title screen, they will cycle through item descriptions. So now, whether you've been smashed to bits by that log trap in the Forbidden Woods, savaged by the fully-transformed Father Gascoigne, or if you've been getting your butt kicked by that first hunting party at the beginning of the game, you won't have to suffer nearly as long before jumping back in and trying your damndest to recover your Blood Echoes.
The new loading screen item descriptions seem to favor giving you information about items you've already come across, but knowing From Software, there could be a 1/1000 chance you'll get presented with the description of some rare, enigmatic artifact which may or may not even exist.
While the load time improvements are definitely something to trumpet the horns for, the rest of patch 1.03's notes contains pretty standard stuff:
-fixed bug That left Certain Lifts and elevators inoperable
-fixed bug That Resulted in bosses Becoming Immobilized
-fixed bug That left Players unable to Advance NPC events During multi-Play
-When the PS4 IS put into Rest Mode During Online Play, the Game Will Now Return to the main title screen upon resuming Play
This Will resolve matchmaking issues related to Suspend / Resume.
-Other Various bug fixes
Patch 1.03 is available now, so Bloodborne owners, all you need to do is click Options while highlighting the game and hit Check for Update, and you too can be enjoying shorter, sexier load screens.
