Arcade Spotlight: Game Galaxy Arcade in Tennessee & Alabama

Never been to Tennessee or Alabama? Well, now you've got an excuse to go there because they've got some sweet arcades under the Game Galaxy Arcade banner! Take a look at this edition of Arcade Spotlight.

Game Galaxy Arcade has three locations: Northgate Mall in Hixson, TN., Hickory Hollow Shopping Center in Antioch, TN., and inside the Madison Square Mall in Huntsville, AL. A chain of arcades like back in the day when they had places like Aladdin's Castle and Tilt? Nice! And what do all three of these Game Galaxy arcades have in common? They all KICK ASS.

Each arcade relies on the pay-to-play pay scheme, so instead of token or quarters, you pay by the hour or pay for the entire day. Not my idea of a great pay scheme, but if I knew anything about the arcade console business, I'd be running my own actual arcade instead of my own arcade website.

Each location has a ton of great retro games and pins. You'll find everything from Ms. Pac-man to Super Qix (when's the last time you saw one of those?), to the best pinball machines around like Addams Family, Sopranos, Fun House, etc. Depending on what location you go to, you'll find different machines at each one. They even have console play for gamers! They even let you buy/sell/trade on classic console stuff! Fellas, if your girlfriend wants to drag you to a mall with a Game Galaxy Arcade, don't fight her on it.
