The Smurfs 2 opens in theaters July 31st, and Ubisoft is releasing its respective movie tie-in that same month. Few platforms were left out in the cold, as the title is coming out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Wii U, and the Nintendo DS.

The console version is an adventure platformer which features smurf hijinks in  New York City and Paris, as well as such environments as the Lava Jungle and the Arctic Tundra. Gamers can play in solo or multiplayer mode with up to four people playing simultaneously. Nintendo Wii U owners, however, are treated to an exclusive bonus, as a fifth player can be added to the game by playing on the Wii U GamePad to control Clockwork Smurf. The DS version is different from the rest of the pack, as it's a bunch of mini-games and contains an interactive storytelling book

"By collaborating with Sony Pictures on the iconic Smurfs license again we are able to extend the experience from film to immersive gameplay," said Ubisoft worldwide licensing VP Christian Salomon. "The family friendly The Smurfs 2 video game will allow players of all ages to continue the fun and revel in new adventures."

Ubisoft previously partnered with Sony on the video game The Smurfs Dance Party.
