Minecraft developer Mojang has been hard at work developing a new collectible digital card game called Scrolls, and soon you will be able to play it. According to Polygon, the game will be going into beta testing next month.

“We are aiming for release at the end of April and it's looking pretty good,” co-founder Jakob Porser said. “We've been wanting to release it for awhile because we want to have the same sort of development as Minecraft.”

The Scrolls beta will be a paid beta, much like Minecraft’s paid alpha was. The beta cost will be a discounted price from the game’s final retail cost, so any early adopters will be saving some cash. The beta will be released initially on the PC, with a Mac release following sometime after. For now, it is unclear whether or not Scrolls will also eventually make its way to consoles or mobile platforms much like Minecraft did before it. However, the team is investigating the possibility of porting the game to Linux.

An official date for the start of the beta has not yet been given.

“With the help from our community,” Porser said, “we'll take the game to the next level and see what we want to do and what they expect out of the game and you can work around that.”
