Let's face it: Let's Plays are becoming a big thing in the world of YouTube. More and more people are watching others play video games, garnering massive hits and paying big dividends for those actually manning the controller. In honor of YouTube's "Let's Play Day," the service has revealed the top 10 most watched games on the site, and most of them shouldn't surprise you at all.

IGN reports that the top ten list looks something like this:

  1. Minecraft
  2. Grand Theft Auto (series)
  3. League of Legends
  4. Call of Duty (series)
  5. FIFA (series)
  6. Garry’s Mod
  7. The Sims (series)
  8. Five Nights at Freddy’s (series)
  9. Puzzle & Dragons
  10. Dota 2

We are not at all surprised to see names like Minecraft, League of Legends, and Grand Theft Auto on that list, but two games in particular are intriguing. The first is Five Nights At Freddy's, as that horror sensation must have more of a following than we ever anticipated. The other is Puzzle & Dragons, with its ninth place showing making me wonder if the American market will be taken by storm when the game hits the 3DS at the end of the month.

One thing that isn't surprising is the lack of Nintendo games — despite Smash Bros. being a ton of fun to watch — but we place that blame solely on Nintendo for their obtrusive rules on using their content on YouTube. Maybe those Let's Play filmmakers were serious when they said they'd stop supporting Nintendo on their channels. Nintendo really should re-think that whole strategy, as its lack of popularity is completely visible with this list.

Kudos to the ten names that did make the cut, and we're looking forward to the next great videos featuring these games.
