In a move no one saw coming (probably because no one has thought about the game for a while considering it originally launched in 2008), Sega has announced that the original Valkyria Chronicles, until now a PS3 exclusive, will be launching on PC in the near future. Huh.

Update: Sega has officially announced that Valkyria Chronicles' PC Edition will digitally launch Nov. 11 for the price of $19.99. The PC edition will include Hard EX Mode, Edy's DLC Mission "Enter the Edy Detachment," Selveria's DLC Mission "Behind Her Blue Flame," and the Challenge of the Edy Detachment DLC.

Original Story: In a move no one saw coming (probably because no one has thought about the game for a while considering it originally launched in 2008), Sega has announced that the original Valkyria Chronicles, until now a PS3 exclusive, will be launching on PC in the near future. Huh.

The announcement was made via a brief Tweet on the Sega of America Twitter account:

This tweet is the only information we have about the impending PC port, though it sounds like we'll have more information to share whenever Sega decides is "soon." Hopefully they won't keep us waiting too long, as we're interested to see what made this game suddenly worthy of a PC port.

Don't get us wrong, we liked Valkyria Chronicles and thought more people should play it, we just thought that ship had sailed a long time ago. Maybe Sega plans to port all three Valkyria Chronicles games over to PC, and they're just starting with the first in the series. That would be pretty smart, since this type of strategy RPG is severely limited by being only on PS3 and PS Vita. All three of these games would fit right in with the PC crowd.
