If you haven't played Valiant Hearts: The Great War yet, take it from us that it's one nifty game with a wonderful story. If you've been waiting for a possible port to your iPhone or iPad, your long wait is over.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War makes its debut on iOS today, bringing its historically-based story of love and loss to iPads and iPhones everywhere. Now anyone with a shiny Apple device can now go back to World War I with Emile and the gang, giving a whole legion of people no excuse not to try the game.

We were wondering how the touch-centric controls of iOS devices will work with Valiant Hearts, but the trailer above gives us a pretty good indication. We'll be swiping to knock over obstacles, tapping on items to pick them up, and turning valves with the tips of our fingers. There are a few scenes that we're particularly interested in, but we don't want to spoil anything for those of you who haven't played the game yet, so we'll let you discover what we mean for yourselves.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War is out today on iOS devices, so get downloading now if you want to fight the great war.
