Two Very Different Warhammer Spin-Off Games Are in Development
Fans of both the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Fantasy Battle are in for a treat as Battlefleet Gothic: Armada was announced and Total War: Warhammer's development was accidentally leaked.
The tabletop games of Warhammer Fantasy Battle and its widely popularized, futuristic companion, Warhammer 40,000, are each getting spin-off video games of their own. Polygon reports that Focus Home Interactive has announced it is developing Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, which is set in the same universe as Warhammer 40,000. Armada is going to be running on Unreal Engine 4 and features RTS gameplay revolving around four different factions duking it out in space.
Going from spaceship dogfights to ancient skirmishes, Warhammer Fantasy Battle fans will be glad to hear that Sega and Creative Assembly are working on Total War: Warhammer. Creative Assembly is known for its recent successes with Alien: Isolation and its historical RTS titles, including the Total War series. Kotaku reports that Total War: Warhammer's development was accidentally revealed in a leaked text excerpt written by Creative Director Mike Simpson from an upcoming Creative Assembly art book (provided below).
Stay tuned and we'll provide up-to-date coverage on both of these Warhammer spin-offs once more information is available.
