Tomb Raider Collector’s Edition Threatens Your Wallet’s Survival

The Tomb Raider Collector's Edition will test the limits of your willpower with all of its goodies. And will probably test the endurance of your bank account too. 

Slap the words 'Collector's Edition' or 'Limited Edition' on a box and you can bet that there will be a legion of gamers shoving their credit cards out, screaming, "Shut up and take my money!", and then posting unboxing videos on YouTube.

Square Enix's offering to this exercise in consumerism is the Collector's Edition for Tomb Raider, which sports an Endurance Survival Kit tin, a Play Arts Kai Lara Croft Figurine, a 15" x 19" double sided island map/poster, 5" x 7" lithographic print, iron-on badges based on icons from the game, and DLC containing a weapons pack.

All this Tomb Raider-y goodness is available for pre-order through select retailers for $99.99, ahead of the game's March 5th, 2013 release. A Digital Download will be available for PC, but no details about its Collector's Edition content have been revealed yet.
