The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is focused on next generation consoles, and don't expect its stance to waver. In an interview with Edge, CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwinski explained his desire to avoid a cross-gen release.

"We've clearly said we'll be next-gen only," said Iwinski. "PC is a non-stop next gen, that's the cool thing about it. So I think a lot of people with big franchises and massive reach plans, they'll have this dilemma, and I think there'll be a lot of comprises made in the industry that might necessarily be good for gamers."

Titles such as Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed 4, and Destiny will all be cross-gen titles, but Iwinski is determined not to be another face in the crowd. "We're looking for triple-A experiences from the next-gen," he added."The Witcher 3 is so large...with a world bigger than Skyrim, and everything that we wanted to put inside it, there's no way it would run on current-gen."

Will CD Projekt Red shoot themselves in the foot by ignoring PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt? Or was separating from the cross-gen masses the right thing to do?
