The highly successful Shovel Knight Kickstarter campaign ended yesterday with a total pledge amount of $311,502. Yacht Club Games' initial plan was to reach $75,000, and by more than tripling its amount the developer reached all its stretch goals.

Yacht Club Games will also set up a website to keep Kickstarter contributors updated with the Shovel Knight development process and respond to backers' comments and questions about the game. The 8-bit inspired platform title is being developed for PC, Mac, Linux, the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

The money train has not stopped with Kickstarter, as gamers can also back Shovel Knight through Paypal until April 30th.

"Most of you don't even know us personally, but just know that you made it possible for us to realize our dreams," reads the latest update. "Thank you."
