According to two different retailers, Infinity Ward and Activision are planning to release Call of Duty: Ghosts as the next game in the highly-successful FPS franchise.

While many Call of Duty fans are currently enjoying Black Ops 2, there are just as many looking forward to Infinity Ward's scheduled return to the series. Though new entries have typically been announced in May, new leaks from U.K. retailer Tesco and global retailer Target (spotted by Charlie Intel) indicate the latest sequel will be dubbed Call of Duty: Ghosts.

The purported box art for the unannounced title features a man pulling down a skull mask reminiscent of one of Modern Warfare's most beloved characters, Ghost. While it's unlikely the game will feature that same hero as a playable character (spoilers: he died), there's nothing to say there isn't a clan of likeminded military members to star in this sequel.

Target lists the game as coming on November 5th, 2013, which falls right in line with previous Call of Duty release windows. Target also indicates the game will be available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and makes no indication of price or next generation availability (or the Wii U).

Activision will likely remain tight-lipped about these rumors, as similar leaks happened last year with Black Ops 2. It shouldn't be much longer until the full official story about the next Call of Duty is revealed.
