Metal Gear Solid V Quiet Figure Has Squeezable Breasts
Just in case the ending of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots left you feeling really lonely, Hideo Kojima has unveiled a new, softhearted action figure just for you.
Metal Gear creator and Konami's soon-to-be-excommunicated director Hideo Kojima revealed Square Enix's latest Play Arts Kai figure for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. This new toy is an articulated (and curvy) depiction of Quiet, the mysterious new sniper joining Big Boss' private military company, the Diamond Dogs. Quiet has some incredible powers, like being able to completely vanish into thin air and the ability to be a professional killer while wearing practically nothing. Kojima revealed Quiet's new Play Arts Kai figure on Twitter (courtesy of Kotaku), with a strange revelation: the toy has squeezable breasts.
That's right — Quiet's sweater stretchers are soft and squishy in her Play Arts Kai form, which both mystifies and terrifies us. We're also wondering if Square Enix's other bouncy Play Arts Kai figures are going to have the same feature (features?). We have a feeling the new Harley Quinn figure is going to be similar. Nevertheless, check the pictures below and watch a pair of fake boobs getting squeezed together, making them look like a pair of... fake boobs being squeezed together.
On one hand, we can see the fans loving this sort of feature for all the wrong reasons. On the other, this could be another topic of debate pertaining to sexism in the video game industry. Nevertheless, these are the kind of things Kojima had in mind when designing the character, as he knew that her controversial and cleavage-focused look would draw attention to her.
This figure will be available by the end of May and pre-orders are selling out fast via third-party retailers. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will debut on Sept. 1 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
