Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix Confirmed for North America

This fall, Square Enix will be bringing the remastered version of Kingdom Hearts to PlayStation 3's in North America.

It's been speculated for some time Square would be localizing Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix for Western audiences, but the publisher had been mum on the subject since the Japanese announcement. Though there's still not a rock solid release date, at least longtime fans of the series can be happy the remastered version will be coming this year.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix contains Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories. There are also cinematics from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days included to flesh out the story further, and there will be enhanced gameplay mechanics added in as well.

It's not exactly a Kingdom Hearts 3 announcement, but this title should be enough to tide fans over until Square can get its act together for a third proper Kingdom Hearts game.
