See that badass guy at the forge tempering his sword? That's Kaunan, the Fire Jotun. Jotun's are kind of like giant gods in North mythology. Kaunan has been trying to forge the perfect sword, the Ragnarok's Blade, for the past millennia, and he's trying to prep his fire giant army to kill all the other gods on the day of Armageddon. Unfortunately, you're not playing as Kaunan. You're playing that microscopic character next to him who can't even reach Kaunan's ankles. The best part? You'e got to cut that big, fiery deity down by yourself. That's right, Thunder Lotus Games' Jotun is an action-adventure title that is inspired by The Legend of Zelda and Shadow of the Colossus, but giving everything a supernatural Norse theme to it. Throw in a hand-drawn art style that is similar to The Banner Saga, and you can tell we're in for something truly special.

Jotun has you playing as Thora, a female Norse warrior who died under inglorious circumstances. In order to reach Valhalla (which is kind of like heaven for warriors in Norse mythology), she must prove herself to the gods by taking on the Jotun. The game has you playing as the human-sized Thora as she takes on gargantuan bosses in this gorgeous top-down action-adventure game.

Starting Sept. 29, Jotun will be available on PC via Steam for $14.99.
