Guitar Hero Rumored to Return, Plastic Guitars Likely to Follow
Don't call it a come back, but you might be able to rock out in your living room once again as Guitar Hero is rumored to be making a return.
According to Shack News, the plastic peripherals of Activision and Harmonix's Guitar Hero franchise are rumored to return on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. An inside source at Activision told PSU that all sorts of "extras" have been going in and out of an alleged recording studio.
“Basically for weeks they’ve been recording live crowds for all songs on the next Guitar Hero. Today all the extras are being dressed up all emo-style for one of the songs," said one of the extras.
The last entry of the Guitar Hero series was Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. There has also been a rumored revival of Harmonix's Rock Band franchise as well. Unfortunately, the later incarnations of both the Rock Band and Guitar Hero series were hit with declining numbers compared to their predecessors. The most likely reason? Oversaturation. We don't mind a revival of Rock Band or Guitar Hero, but just pick one to run with so we don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on plastic instruments every year.
