Go Behind the Scenes on AVP and Planet of the Apes with NECA
Earlier this month, we traveled up to the secret studio lair where NECA crafts all its amazing figures and collectibles. In the first part of our video series, we discuss the finer points of 'Planet of the Apes' paintings and the future of the 'Aliens vs. Predator' line.
Sadly, we can't show you everything we saw on our exclusive visit, but we think there's plenty of great information for fans of both 'POTA' and 'AVP'. Paint Supervisor Jon Wardell takes us through the creation of the packaging for the upcoming Mego-inspired 'Planet of the Apes' Gorilla Soldier, detailing the process of coming up with a wholly original image... in ten days.
Additionally, we speak with sculptor David Silva [Not Silba, as it is listed in the video. - Ed.] about the changes coming to NECA's long-running 'Predator' line. Currently, Silva's hard at work on the sculpt of Scar from the first 'AVP' film, which in addition to being the first from the newest movies in NECA's collection, will feature some new articulation and accessorization as well.
But don't take my word for it. Check out the video above, and learn more about how the collectibles you love came to be.
