If you're unfamiliar with the "bullet hell" genre of video games, this new title from Doragon Entertainment will help serve as a mini-lesson. Specifically, the title of Danmaku Unlimited 2 has a key to identifying just what constitutes a bullet hell game.

Bullet hell is a specific genre of shoot 'em up games where you face an overwhelming number of enemies and projectiles. Imagine a game like Space Invaders, but on crystal meth. That's a rough approximation of what it's like to play one of these games.

In Japanese, "danmaku" can be translated to literally mean "bullet curtain." So Danmaku Unlimited 2 is actually named after the genre itself. And if we are to expect the game to deliver on its title, than we should be expecting an unlimited amount of bullet curtains ... times two.

This space shootin' blaster is set to launch onto iOS on the first of March. Bullet hell veterans, that's plenty of time to get ready. For anyone who needs to warm up, there are already a few titles out on iOS that you can try your thumbs at. You can take a look at Cave's DoDonPachi Maximum or the recently-released Sela: The Space Pirate. But fair warning, they are not for the faint of heart.

Or you can just check out this footage of Danmaku Unlimited 2 in action. If you like what you see, then get ready for the game to drop in the App Store on March 1st!
