    Villager of Honor Badge

This is less of a tip or trick and more of a goal to set in mind. If you're interested in grabbing all the badges you can get in the game, this one has to be the mother of all challenges. In order to get the Villager of Honor badge, you need to spend at least 500 hours playing. That is quite a task and your social life might suffer, but it is well worth that 100% completion you were looking for. This item on our list of the 10 Best Animal Crossing: New Leaf Cheats is not for the lazy gamer.

    Cliff Diving

Of the many items you have in your inventory, none could be more useful for cliff diving than the wetsuit. Slap that sucker on your character and set out in search of a patch of cliff face with some water beneath it. Edge your way up to the precipice and try not to get vertigo on that 3D screen. Then all you have to do is hit A and plunge your character into the deep blue. Does it get you anything? Nah, but its fun anyway.

    Gender Bending Hair Style

You have plenty of choices when it comes to hair styles in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. But, if you want to try on something from the opposite gender, you'll have to be prepared to go under the shears quite a bit. In order to get a haircut usually reserved for the gender opposite your character, you first have to get each and every haircut available. Once those are exhausted, you'll have unlocked a whole new set of do's. You might even be able to get a pixie bob for your macho man mayor.

    Slingshot of Gold

Hark! Look up! If you take the time to gaze up into the sky once in awhile you might stumble upon something held up by three golden balloons. Shoot down the treasure and inside you'll find a Golden Slingshot. This is incredibly helpful as it takes your measly one shot slingshot and turns it into a triple action slingshot devastator. Shooting three pebbles at once has its perks.

    Fancy Photos

If you're looking to add some Instagram spice to your character's photo in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, look no farther than this little secret. When you're in the photo booth, hold the L Button to turn it black and white or hold the R button for some sepia toned action. It may not win any photo contests, but at least it will set you apart from the crowd.

    The Golden Fishing Rod

It's time to bling out your tackle box. In order to nab the Golden Fishing Rod, you're going to have to put your fishing skills to the test. Only after you've caught every type of fish, 72 to be exact, will you be able to get the Golden Fishing Rod by talking to Fishing Tournament Host. Once you have it, no fish will be able to resist your lure, and actually they will bite down for much longer. This would have been helpful when we were trying to get the rod in the first place. But, its usefulness earns it a spot on our list of the 10 Best Animal Crossing: New Leaf Cheats.

    Majora's Mask

What the hell is Majora's Mask doing in Animal Crossing: New Leaf? Well, it is simply there as a bit of nostalgic decoration. In order to bring something from your gaming past into your present you need to buy some fortune cookies. It is time to get walking and earn those coins because you need to find the #9 ticket. Then you can trade it to Timmy and Tommy in exchange for the mask that terrified Terminia. Not a bad deal if you're looking to squash your town with a giant moon.

    Golden Axe

Sometimes you need a bit of gaudy jewelry tacked onto your tools to help you get the job done. If you're looking for a Golden Axe, then you'll want to purchase at least 50 saplings from the garden center, then have a chat with Leif the Sloth. He should be able to oblige you with a woodcutter's luxury. The Golden Axe is indestructible and will occasionally hack off a unique tree stump. Time to break out the lumberjack skills.

    Terrified of Bees!

If you're like me and you were traumatized by bees as a kid so badly that you flail at the sight of yellow and black, you might want to try this little trick. As you know, some trees have a nasty surprise. Whenever you disturb a swarm, quickly press start, then save and continue. The hive will be there, but the bees won't. Also, over by the train station, open up the train gate. While it is open, beehives won't be able to swarm. I suppose steam disagrees with them.

    Easy Money

Here is the easiest way to cheat the system and get yourself some easy Bells. You need to find a particular rock within your little town and dig two holes like the picture below. Now, you need to quickly whack that rock with the shovel until it stops yielding any treasure. All that's left is to pick up the booty and put it to some good use. Also, if you use the Silver Shovel, there is a chance that some gems might come out instead of bells. This brings us to a shiny conclusion to our list of the 10 Best Animal Crossing: New Leaf Cheats and tricks.
