Registration begins for the 2015 8-Bit: Salute: Gaming For Troops event, a 24-hour gaming marathon whose proceeds will go towards bringing entertainment to our soldiers overseas.

The 4th annual 8-Bit Salute: Gaming For Troops is upon us and registration for the event has begun. The 24-hour marathon will be happening on May 16-17, so make sure to mark your calendars. If you've never heard of the event before, 8-Bit Salute: Gaming For Troops a 24-hour gaming marathon that collects money for Operation Supply Drop whose charitable cause is pretty self explanatory. Operation Supply Drop does many things, but the service it is most known for getting video game and entertainment care packages to soldiers overseas and in military hospitals.

This year, 8-Bit Salute has reported that as of today, there have already been more participants to the marathon than there were in the entirety of the 2014. The mission for this year is to raise $1,337,000 and it's definitely not an unreachable goal. There are two different ways you can register, one being free and the other being $15. For spending that $15, you will get an Elite status that will provide opportunities for prizes, entry to win 1 of 2 personal "supply drops." If you reach the personal donation goal of $200, you will be awarded an official t-shirt from this year's event.

The 4th Annual 8-Bit Salute: Gaming For Troops is sponsored by Rooster Teeth, Astro Gaming, theChive, Wargaming, Polaris, Twitch and GAEMS and is looking forward to another year of fundraising for the great cause this team has built Operation Supply Drop around.
