Compulsion Games has launched the Kickstarter campaign for its trippy, imaginative and creepy first-person survival game, We Happy Few.

The Montreal-based team at Compulsion Games launched a Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund We Happy Few, and we hope that it turns out to be successful. PlayStation 4 fans might recognize Compulsion as the team behind Contract, but We Happy Few takes a darker and more twisted path that this PS4 launch title (it also come out for PS3, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360). Anyone who pledges $60 CA (roughly $48 in USD) will be able to play the game's early alpha build.

In We Happy Few, you play a "Downer," a person who doesn't adhere to the hive-like mentality and faux utopia that the English community of Wellington Wells embraces. In order to survive and find food, you must act like you're one of townspeople, who are all addicted to Joy, a sedative that pacifies the whole town. Upon finding out that you're not one of them, the entire town will hunt you down in the deadliest of ways. The game is quite atmospheric, and helps convey the idea that you're alone, despite all the complacent people around you.

As of this article's publication, We Happy Few's Kickstarter campaign is currently sitting on almost $10,000 of its $201,353 main goal with 29 days left to go. While no type of platforms were announced for the game's release, it is expected to launch in June 2016 if successfully funded.
