Amy Hennig might be gone, but Naughty Dog has assured us that Nathan Drake's next-gen debut is going to be both beautiful and unforgettable.

Naughty Dog has officially announced some of the behind-the-scenes details for its long-awaited next-gen title, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. While we really wanted to see how Amy Hennig would have handled the franchise given Uncharted 4's PlayStation 4 exclusivity, we're even more interested to see how Naughty Dog moves the series forward without its longtime creative director and writer, who has gone on to head production on the untitled Star Wars game at Visceral Games. Based on what Naughty Dog had to say on Uncharted 4, it looks as though Nathan might be older, but he's in the best shape of his digital life.

Using the power of the PlayStation 4, Uncharted 4 will be rendered in its expected 1080p display along with 60 fps. Naughty Dog has also announced that Drake's in-game Uncharted 4 model features over double the amount of polygons Joel's in-game model had throughout The Last of Us on PlayStation 3.

In regard to Uncharted 4's plot synopsis, Naughty Dog said the following:

"The next generation of Nathan Drake will explore what it means when Drake is forced back into the world of thieves. He will embark on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure. It’s his greatest adventure yet and will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he love."

Uncharted 4 will launch sometime in 2015 exclusively for PS4.
