Star Fox Zero

"It's about time you showed up, Fox!" After eleven years, the ace fighter pilot and his team of mercenaries are returning to a home console in Star Fox Zero, and a long hiatus like that creates some major expectations. Surely if Nintendo thought it was time to bring back Star Fox now there'd be some big things in store, right? Well it seems those "big ideas" aren't quite as big as I had hoped.

Nintendo has announced the delay of another major Wii U title as Star Fox Zero is being pushed back to a Q1 2016 release.

Nintendo has unveiled its release schedule for the rest of 2015, and there are some surprises in the mix, including Star Fox Zero.

Star Fox Zero is a reboot in more than just the name. This is a return to form for classic Star Fox gameplay, hearkening back to the days of Star Fox 64 when the series truly shined. The console may say "Wii U" on it and the visual quality may reflect current standards, but controlling the game is just like playing the older games back in the Star Fox glory days. Star Fox Zero is a perfect blend of old and new ideas, and while some of the new implementations may be awkward the game is off to a fast start.

Fox McCloud, Peppy Hare, Falco Lombardi and Slippy Toad are back in Star Fox Zero for the Wii U.
