Per Joystiq, Microsoft has decided not to move forward with the Kinect game Matter, which was being developed by Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski and Blind Wink Games. A Microsoft Studios rep said that there were "no further details" to share on Matter's demise.

Microsoft Careers has recently posted numerous job openings at Rare for an as of yet untitled Kinect project. The descriptions of the positions being offered point toward this project possibly being made for whatever next generation console Microsoft has in store for us.

Rumors have it that the specs for the new Kinect have been leaked, giving us a slight peek at what's to come for the full-body motion peripheral in the next-gen Xbox system.

The Louvre Museum continues to integrate gaming technology into its fabric, as the Xbox 360 Kinect plays an important role in an exhibit named Spotlight on the Antinoe veil.
