Rumors of Splinter Cell: Blacklist heading to Nintendo's Wii U surfaced in late February, giving Nintendo fans hope that Sam Fisher would break someone's face on their GamePads.

A press release from Nintendo has confirmation from Ubisoft that Splinter Cell Blacklist will land on the Wii U on August 20th, 2013 in North America, August 22th, 2013 for EMEA territories, and August 23rd, 2013 in the UK.

The GamePad controller will allow players to manage gadgets, switch weapons, disable enemies, move through the environments, and other features that should streamline the stealth experience.

Along with the GamePad's touch features, there will also be motion-based inputs that should help augment gameplay. We can't wait to see the full list of features that will help the Wii U version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist shine -- err, or stay hidden in the shadows, which is probably more appropriate.

Would you rather play the game on the Wii U as opposed to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC? Let us know!
