Sonic and Tails’ Tornado Plane Diorama Statue is Ready to Fly
First 4 Figures is immortalizing Tails' unforgettable, rocket-propelled plane from Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Pre-orders have started for First 4 Figures' Tornado statue, featuring Sonic the Hedgehog and his mechanic little buddy, Tails. The Tornado was first seen in the second to last level of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and was used in a few of its sequels. This rocket-equipped prop plane was used to ferry Sonic over to Dr. Robotnik's own Death Star-like base, the Death Egg. We'll never forget that ending of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with the Death Egg exploding and Sonic falling through the sky, only to be caught by Tails and the Tornado in the end.
We know -- if you caught all the Chaos Emeralds and unlocked Super Sonic, he didn't need to be caught because he was all Super Saiyan-ed out. Nevertheless, you can have this iconic piece of 16-bit video game history if you decided to pre-order one of these two statue dioramas. Wait there are two? That's right, there's a standard edition and a limited edition.
The Tornado statue is approximately 17.5" tall, 14" long and 14" wide. The standard edition of the statue has a base price of $299.99 (with a payment plan available) and only 1,000 are being made. There is a special edition of the statue priced at $329.99 that has functional LED lights in the Tornado's afterburner. There will only be 425 pieces of this special edition of the Tornado made so you better pre-order soon.
