With the release of Angry Birds Star Wars coming, Rovio surprised everyone with news that they would be teaming up with two new gigantic partners -- McDonald's and China.

We've been keeping up on pretty much everything Angry Birds related here at Arcade Sushi. But even we were never expecting that Rovio would up the ante even more their promotions. There was no way they could top Star Wars, right? Guess we didn't see the one-two punch of both McDonald's AND China. Man, these birds are starting to scare us.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Rovio has had China in the sights of their slingshot for a while now, with lots of marketing material aimed at their mobile market. And who better to help storm their shores than the biggest fast food company in the world? One quick click over to the McDonald's China web site will show that that it's already covered in their branding.

We are not sure if there are any plans for this marketing strategy to cross over into American McDs, but if it works over there you can bet that some part of it will find its way over here. To give you an idea of what's going on over there, check out this commercial. It's always weird to see a McDonald's ad in another country.

We don't think we'll be ordering the McNuggets anytime soon.
