Pokemon X and Y Sell Over 4 Million Units in First Two Days
Surprising almost nobody, Pokemon X and Y did very well during the first two days of their global launch.
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y made history by becoming the first set of games in the franchise to launch globally at the same time. Together, they have sold more than four million units in Japan, Europe and the Americas combined. And that's just for this past weekend.
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said, "The early response to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y not only reaffirms the ongoing passion of Pokémon fans, but also indicates that an entirely new generation of gamers are eager to experience the franchise for themselves."
Regional data for previous Pokemon games show that Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are selling more than 70% faster than Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2, which were previously the fastest-selling Nintendo 3DS titles.
