Playing and Purchasing XBLA Titles in April Will Earn You Rewards

Xbox Live Rewards members will be getting some extra bonuses in April just by buying and playing games on Xbox Live Arcade.

Major Nelson revealed the "Play to Earn" promotion on Thursday, though it won't go live until April 1st. There will be three ways to earn rewards during the month, with members able to accomplish all three tiers getting undisclosed VIP Exclusives down the road.

Simply by playing any combination of XBLA games for 20 hours will grant you a free avatar item. Buying any four XBLA games priced $5 (400MSP) or higher will earn you one free month of Xbox Live. Finally, spending $40 (3200MSP) during April on XBLA games will get you $10 (800MSP) back.

Every single game works for the promotion, so if you've been saving up looking for some quality downloadable games, it looks like April is the month to stock up.
