With the official Japanese launch of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (or Ultra Suplex Hold as it's known in Japan) coming this week, Atlus has lfited the curtain on the first thing fighting fans will see when they boot the game up: the opening cinematic.

As one would expect, the opening movie shows most of the faces players will be fighting with in the game, starting with Yosuke Hanamura and moving onto Chie Satonaka, Yukiko Amagi, and more. The entire movie is done in an awesome hand-drawn anime style and accompanied by a rocking track sang entirely in English, which means even we Western fighting enthusiasts can enjoy it.

The video is great and it makes waiting for P4AU that much more painful, but it also highlights an interesting problem for some Japanese companies: staggered release dates. Some folks like to be surprised when they play games for the first time, but in this Internet age when a game launches in other parts of the world a full month before they reach our shores, those secrets have a high probability of being spoiled. As such, if you're looking forward to P4AU and you don't want to be spoiled, stay off the internets for a month or so.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax launches Sept.30 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
