While scalpers and collectors are at war with one another for the likes Meta Knight and Marth, three of the more abundant amiibo figures have had their prices dropped.

According to Nintendo News, there is a price drop coming for three of the less popular amiibo figures. Princess Peach, Donkey Kong and Yoshi are slacking a bit in sales compared to the more famous faces of Nintendo as well as the amiibo figures that were produced in fewer quantities, so Nintendo is giving them a discount. Perhaps instead of making all those Donkey Kong figures, we could've gotten a few extra Marth ones instead. Nevertheless, Nintendo is slashing the prices of Princess Peach, Donkey Kong and Yoshi by 23%, going from $12.99 down to $9.99. Combine this price drop with special deals like the buy one amiibo figure get another 50% off sale I saw at my local Toys 'R Us, and you can easily start your own collection (be warned, they hike up their prices a little higher compared to the MSRP).

We recently reported that both gold and silver versions of a Mario amiibo are in the works, with the Gold Mario said to be a Walmart exclusive. In terms of other retailer-specific amiibo figures, Best Buy already had Meta Knight, Target had Rosalina and Luma, GameStop had Shulk and Toys 'R Us had Lucario. Most of these exclusives were carried in low quantities, with the core amiibo line (Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Donkey Kong, etc.) taking up most of the spots on store shelves. Here's to hoping Nintendo decides to just stop producing some of these three and ship out more of the rarer ones.
