In an awesome move, NetherRealm Studios will let you try out its DLC characters for Mortal Kombat X (Predator, Jason, Tanya and Tremor) without having to buy them.

Shoryuken reports that Mortal Kombat X is expanding on its downloadable content with its Living Towers gameplay mode. The really cool thing about the Living Towers section of the game is that it will allow you to test out NetherRealm Studios' DLC characters without actually spending money on them.

The first two towers will have time-dependent character changes. A lone, changing character can be selected every hour for you to try while the other tower will change its character being offered once a day. So just keep an eye out for Predator or Jason and you'll eventually get to try them. The third tower doesn't have a time restriction, and we have a feeling this tower will be filled with non-DLC characters that you haven't unlocked in-game yet.

Not only will these towers allow you to figure out what you like and dislike about a character before buying the Kombat Pack DLC, they can also provide important information to the developers about the popularity of certain characters (surprise: more people want to try Jason and Predator before they do Tanya). These three towers seem pretty awesome, and luckily we don't have to wait much longer to actually try them out.

Mortal Kombat X will be debuting on April 14 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and sometime this summer for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
