Blizzard's multiplayer online battle arena, Heroes of the Storm, is entering its closed beta testing phase, and it's getting a ton of updates to boot.

The official Heroes of the Storm YouTube account has posted a closed beta walkthrough of Blizzard's new MOBA, showcasing all the big changes the closed beta is getting compared to its alpha version. Kevin "Cloaken" Johnson provides an in-depth look at Heroes of the Storm's changes. The most noteworthy changes would be the addition of Ranked Play, which is going to be a big deal once the final version of Heroes is released. Another big change to Heroes is the addition of Thrall to the roster. The Horde Warchief has access to all sorts of his signature Shaman attacks, so we hope you guys like lightning. Also added to the beta is the Sky Temple map. The Sky Temple is a floating oasis that has an ancient Egyptian motif, despite its aerial backdrop. Many characters have gotten some balance tweaks, but they were all for the greater good.

Heroes of the Storm's closed beta begins today and will run until Blizzard pulls the plug on it. Once you reach Account Level 30, you can enter Hero League. Make sure you keep an eye out for future updates, such as the inevitable Ranked Play-based Team League, so start developing strategies with a buddy before it opens. Visit the in-game store often, because Blizzard is regularly putting out random sales in case you wanted a special character skin for dirt cheap.
