Grand Theft Auto 5 Wins Game of the Year at VGX

The fans have spoken, and Spike and GameTrailers have announced a winner for the inaugural VGX Game of the Year award.

Well, Grand Theft Auto 5 won the first ever VGX Game of the Year award. It's not all that shocking considering the success and acclaim Rockstar received throughout the fall and remainder of 2013.

This rest of this year's nominees included  BioShock Infinite, Super Mario 3D World, Tomb Raider and the Last of Us. It was a fairly impressive field, with only one console exclusive solid enough to even warrant a nomination. The rest of the multi-platform field was fairly diverse, with three featuring leading ladies that were just as important as their male counterparts.
