During the North American International Auto Show currently going on in Detroit, Michigan, Polyphony Digital unveiled the Toyota FT-1 Concept coupe alongside Toyota. Sure, this auto show might be showcasing other impressive cars such as the Acura 2015 TSX prototype, the Lexus 2015 RC F and 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, but the Toyota FT-1 has something that puts it over the rest: it will be a free-to-download car in the well-received Gran Turismo 6

Gran Turismo 6 players should be able to take the FT-1 for a spin after a mandatory, free online update that arrived this week according to the PlayStation Blog. Upon the update's completion, racers can partake in a unique, seasonal event that is oriented around the Toyota FT-1. As long as you score a bronze rating or better in Laguna Seca's FT-1 event, you should have the car in your garage and drive it whenever you'd like. For those who have amounted beaucoup bucks from GT 6's races and may not have the wheel skills to pull off the bronze award, you also have the option to buy the FT-1 from Toyota's in-game dealers.

The Toyota FT-1 is a concept car put together by Calty Design Research, a veteran partner of Toyota designs. Calty actually worked with Polyphony Digital in order to create the digital designs of the FT-1's in-game model as a part of the car's pitch to Toyota's big wigs. We can't wait to take this beautiful vehicle out for a spin on GT 6's killer courses.
