Eorzea just can't catch a break. First it was revamped from head to toe in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Now, it has one more storyline it wants you to clear before the big Heavensward expansion.

Final Fantasy XIV's official website has released a trailer for Patch 2.5, which will bring the Before the Fall content to Eorzea. This update is actually split into two parts, Patch 2.5 and Patch 2.51. As you can tell by this new trailer, Patch 2.5 will continue to spread the darkness from the Crystal Tower. A powerful Eidolon is riding through this darkness, and it's up to you to stop it. Who is it in this Shroud? Well, let's just say he's used to Zantetsuken. That's right, Odin is back in Eorzea, and it's up to you to stop him. Based on the trailer, there's all sorts of new content for you to access as well.

With such great content in Patch 2.5, it makes you wonder what will be included with Patch 2.51, right? Well, 2.51 ends on a more joyful note. 2.51 will conclude the game's main storyline before the Heavensward DLC launches. On top of this, Patch 2.51 adds the Battle of Ishgard as well as the Gold Saucer. Remember the cheerful amusement park from Final Fantasy VII? Eorzea has its own version of it where you and your friends can partake in a lot of amusing activities together, such as chocobo races. Stay tuned and we'll let you know when these patches go live

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn's Heavensward expansion is expected to launch sometime this spring for the PC and PlayStation versions of the MMORPG.
