Ubisoft has released a brand-new gameplay trailer for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag featuring many of the new mechanics coming to the sequel.

There are plenty of things to like about the new trailer for Assassin's Creed 4, and even if you think the series is stretching itself a bit thin, there's still some room for new tricks. The footage here has a bunch of those new features at play, and gives us a better look at the deep sea diving and island exploration. The naval battles appear to play out very similarly to Assassin's Creed 3, which isn't a bad thing.

Combat looks to play out just the way you'd expect in an Assassin's Creed game, however the additional dual-cutlass/dual-gun wielding should add a new wrinkle to the familiar formula. The bright green of the jungles really pops here too, and hopefully the rest of the world will look as vibrant. The few towns on display look nice, but don't do anything to really stand out in this trailer.
