Double Fine Productions beautiful, point-and-click adventure, Broken Age, is going to get a boxed version for retail.

Tim Schafer's long awaited return to the point-and-click adventure genre is being released in boxed form at PC game retailers. Nordic Games has signed a distribution deal with Double Fine Productions for the retail version of Broken Age for PC. A digital version will be released in Spring 2015 with the same release date as the boxed edition. Act 1 of Broken Age came out in Jan. 2014 and was met with widespread positive feedback. Act 2 of the game will be coming out in Q2 2015. It is likely that Act 2 will be out before this retail version of Broken is released, since the physical copy is sure to have both Acts included.

"I am very excited about the retail version of Broken Age," said Double Fine President and CEO Tim Schafer, "And also relieved, as having a widely distributed, physical copy of the game will make it more safe from solar flares and EMP bombs and stuff like that. As long as people store their disks in fire proof safes. People do that, right?"

Stay tuned and we'll let you know the release dates of Broken Age: Act 2 and its retail edition once more information is released by Nordic Games and Double Fine Productions.
