It looks like Prophet won't be shooting up fools on the GamePad, because the Nintendo Wii U version of Crysis 3 has been scrapped.

In an interview with Venture Beat, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli talks about Crysis 3 and how it stands in the video game world. He was asked about Nintendo's Wii U and if it was "even on his radar" when it came to producing games.

Yerli said, "We did have Crysis 3 running on the Wii U. We were very close to launching it. But there was a lack of business support between Nintendo and EA on that. Since we as a company couldn't launch on the WIi U ourself -- we don't have a publishing license -- Crysis 3 on Wii U had to die."

He also commented on the need to stray from a single-player mindset and that we should be gaming with our friends with free-to-play support. This was part of the larger discussion on Crytek's upcoming Warface multiplayer shooter.
