Creative Director of God of War 3 Leaves Sony

The person in charge of the development of God of War 3 has parted ways with SCE Santa Monica.

IGN has confirmed that Stig Asmussen has left Sony Santa Monica. Recently hit with a significant amount of layoffs, the departure of Stig Asmussen is yet another big setback for the studio. Asmussen has been with Sony Santa Monica since 2003 where he first started off being an Environmental Artist for the first God of War title. He then was bumped up to being the Art Director for God of War 2, and eventually became the Creative Director for God of War 3.

In response to IGN's article, Sony has publicly confirmed that Asmussen has parted ways from their Santa Monica studio. Asmussen has been allegedly applying to other development studios in the southern California region.
