Alone in the Dark: Illumination Trailer: Extra Creepy with a Side of Concept Art
Think of every bad dream you ever had, and think of the setting of those dreams. That's exactly what Alone in the Dark: Illumination's newest trailer and concept art depict, and we're scared already.
Alone in the Dark: Illumination might be the name of the game, but we don't see many illuminated areas in these concept art shots (thanks to VG247), or its trailer. Instead we have lots of fog, spooky moonlit vistas and one creepy monster. We absolutely love the locations used in the concept art; while we have the typical "scary graveyard," there's also a "scary beach," "scary trailer park" and "scary industrial warehouse area." Bottom line? This game should be scary.
The last time Alone in the Dark was rebooted, it had a lot of issues that just couldn't be overcome, but it did have some great ideas to build on. If Atari can get over those humps and deliver some real terror, Alone in the Dark could be right up there with the likes of Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Fatal Frame.
Alone in the Dark: Illumination looks to scare the crap out of us this coming November on PC.
