2K Games Hiring for a ‘Top-secret, Genre-shifting’ Project
Recent job listings suggest that 2K is planning on a new project that intends to change the game as we know it.
Total Xbox reports that 2K Games has listed openings on LinkenIn for a Senior Character Technical Artist, Tools Programmer and Senior Level Architect. These listings point towards a new, in-house project made at an "unannounced development studio" in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Technical Artist listing references a "mind-blowing top secret project." The Tools Programmer job description asks for someone with the capabilities to "create and maintain tools for an unannounced multiplatform game currently in pre-production using proprietary software and technology." Lastly, the Level Architect listing refers to a "top-secret, genre-shifting title."
Don't forget, 2K Games is a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive. Take-Two's published franchises (through both Take-Two and its multiple subsidiary companies) include BioShock, Borderlands, Civilization, GTA, Mafia, Max Payne, Midnight Club, MLB 2K, NBA 2K, XCOM, WWE 2K and the Red Dead series. We've got our fingers cross for a current-gen Red Dead.
