No. 4 – Xenogears 2

Considered a classic RPG from the golden years of Squaresoft, Xenogears was a triumph of esoteric storytelling and philosophy. The story was a bit berserk and included Jungian psychology and echoes of Freud and Nietzsche, but that is what made it so endearing. The characters were all very well rounded and the world was incredibly immersive. It was a game that pulled you in and didn’t let go. We miss Xenogears and with all the technology that has been developed since its release, we’d love to finally see a sequel. Sure there have been spiritual sequels like the Xenosaga games, but those just aren’t the same. Like all the others on the list, there’s no plan for another Xenogears and this makes us Xeno-sad-ga.
