Words With Friends Co-Creator Announces Oculus Rift Game for E3

The man behind Words With Friends has announced that his new development team's first official project will be for the Oculus Rift.

Paul Bettner, co-creator of the immensely popular Words With Friends mobile game, has created a new studio, Playful Corp., that has announced its debut title, Lucky's Tale. Lucky's Tale is going to officially debut at E3, but Playful Corp. still had to let the world know about this upcoming VR platformer. Being an Oculus Rift title, we can't wait to see how Lucky's third-person platforming will work on the virtual reality headset. Playful Corp. also announced that it is one of the first studios to partner with Oculus VR to create content exclusively for the Oculus Rift.

“Oculus is committed to bringing the best and most innovative content from developers large and small to our new platform. We are delighted with our new partnership with Playful,” said Oculus VR's head of worldwide publishing, David De Martini.

In addition to Lucky's Tale, Playful Corp. is also developing an open-world sandbox title, Creativerse, which will launch on the Oculus Rift immediately after its initial Steam release.
