Digital Extremes' immensely popular, free-to-play third-person shooter launches today on Xbox One.

Warframe pits the ancient Tenno warriors against the militarized Grineer, the robotic Corpus and the Technocyte-afflicted Infested. The Tenno have awoken from centuries of cryosleep and have found all sorts of modernized factions ready to take them out, so you must help them fight back. Luckily, the Tenno have Warframes, which are exoskeletal pieces of armor which give them a fighting chance.

We can't wait to see how Digital Extremes optimized Warframe for the Xbox One's launch. While the game is free-to-play, there is an in-game currency, Platinum, which can be unlocked via gameplay and purchased with real-world cash. Check out Warframe in action in the video above and then give it a whirl on the Xbox One -- it's not like you have to pay for it to try it out.

Warframe launched last year for PlayStation 4 and PC. As of today, Warframe has made the jump over to the Xbox One, making it one of the first free-to-play titles to launch on PC and both current-gen systems.
