Super Smash Bros. Box Art and Character Select Screen Revealed
We have just caught a glimpse of the box art for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U along with the game's character select screen.
Shoryuken reports that the box art for both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros. have been released. On top of this, Nintendo has given us a look as to what the character select screen will look like for the Wii U version of the game. Certain features such as holding the B button instead of tapping it to go back to the main menu will be a godsend considering how many multiplayer matches have been delayed in the past due to someone accidentally going back to the previous menu.
A closer look at the character select screen suggests that there are plenty of other characters missing from the roster. In particular, Sheik, Charizard, the Mii Fighters, Lady Palutena, Ike, Princess Peach, Diddy Kong, King Dedede, Lucario, Luigi, Toon Link and Yoshi are all confirmed characters who are noticeably absent from the roster. At the same time, the missing characters we mentioned could be unlockable through the game's single-player campaign mode, hinting that these are just the base characters you start off with. These characters could also be the only balanced fighters Nintendo had ready for E3. Considering the big Super Smash Bros. Invitational tournament going on, Nintendo may have only wanted to use its finalized characters.
Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 3DS has been delayed to Oct. 3 while its Wii U counterpart still has a 2014 holiday season launch window.
