Nintendo's third-person inker has a crisp, new trailer depicting its color-changing, single-player gameplay.

The Big N has released a new trailer for Splatoon that is filled with all sorts of bizarre enemies who are ready to redefine what it means to play paintball. Splatoon has you playing as a child who can morph into a squid where you and your friends duke it out in massive multiplayer maps, armed with nothing but ink. It's Nintendo's innovative application of what the ink does and how the characters interact with it that makes Splatoon so intriguing. Until today, we have only seen multiplayer matches. This new trailer focuses on the types of encounters you'll have when you're inking solo. Those squid enemies look extra derpy and we can't wait to take them on.

Load up your ink cartridges, because Splatoon will launch sometime in the second quarter of 2015 exclusively on the Wii U.
