Road Redemption is a Road Rash-styled motorcycle-combat racer that's looking to get funded on Kickstarter. To that end, developer DarkSeas Games has thrown up a Kickstarter trailer to show gamers what they'll be be funding, should they choose to hand over their hard-earned dollars.

You might remember the Road Rash series from its many iterations, some of which landed on the Nintendo 64 and the long-forgotten 3DO. If you are familiar with the series, then you'd know that its premise was a simple one: race to the finish line on motorcycles while trying to bludgeon your opponents with an assortment of melee weapons.

Road Redemption aims to bring back the classic Road Rash gameplay and give it a modern update, complete with eye-pleasing visuals and a physics engine that will make the mobile brawling that much better.

You'll take on the role of a recently-paroled felon and work to reach the upper echelons of your old bike club. What ensues is a power struggle that takes place in a gritty, nightmarish version of the American midwest. Whew! Sounds like fun, right?

DarkSeas Games has raised $11,576 out of its $160,000 goal as of this writing, so we might be looking at one of the next big Kickstarter success stories. There's still 29 days left to go in the campaign, meaning lots more info and goodies are sure to come out in the form of updates.

They're aiming to bring the game to PC, Mac, and Linux to take advantage of the platforms' high specs, but they might also be working on getting some Oculus Rift support too!

Let us know what you think about this new project and visit its Kickstarter page if you think it's worthy of your money!
