Capcom takes us behind the scenes to show how much work has gone into remastering Resident Evil.

The executive producer of the Resident Evil HD Remake, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, has explained one of the game's most significantly changed areas. This behind the scenes video focuses on the crypt of Lisa Trevor. For those who don't remember, Lisa Trevor is the boss character in the 2002 Resident Evil remake who has been locked away after being experimented on by the Umbrella corporation for decades. She was the daughter of George Trevor, who designed the actual mansion in which the first Resident Evil game takes place.

Hirabayashi explains that the original version of Lisa's crypt had its shadows and lights appear on the walls through the use of a full-motion video that would repeat every few seconds in the background. This time around, Capcom has rendered the entire room using polygons and incorporated some beautiful lighting effects as well. We can't wait to see how awesome Lisa Trevor will look once she emerges from that ominous casket.

Resident Evil will launch for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in early 2015.

Fighting Lisa Trevor is definitely one of Resident Evil's creepiest moments:
