Resident Evil Origins Collection Heads to PS4 and Xbox One
Be ready for Crimson Heads, leeches, giant scorpions and more as Resident Evil 1 and 0 are being packaged together in Resident Evil Origins Collection.
Capcom has announced they're packaging together their HD remasters of Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 0 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. To celebrate, they released two new trailers, one for the Resident Evil Origins Collection and another for Resident Evil 0. The trailer for the Origins Collection showcases everything we love from the original 2002 GameCube prequel to the Resident Evil series. We get to see Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen try to survive the various bio-organic weapons of Umbrella leading into the events of the original Resident Evil game.
Capcom also revealed that Resident Evil 0 will be getting the new Wesker Mode. For the first time ever, RE0 players can play the prequel as Albert Wesker, who has all of his superhuman abilities going into this special gameplay mode. I'm certainly digging Rebecca's evil look, which is reminiscent of Jill Valentine's mind-controlled getup from Resident Evil 5. If you want to see Wesker Mode in action, just check the trailer provided below.
Resident Evil Origins Collection launches on Jan. 19, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for $39.99. While it still has a tentative launch window of early 2016, I have a feeling the HD remaster of Resident Evil 0 will be available to download separately for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC for $19.99 around the time the Origins Collection debuts.
